In the ocean, there is a wide variety of organisms, including fish, mammals, algae, crustaceans, mollusks, and microorganisms. Our laboratory focuses on "marine lipids" which is fat-soluble and bio-active (bio-functional) components included in those marine organisms such as phospholipids and carotenoids. We are developing comprehensive research focused on "evaluation of bio-function of marine lipids based on molecular nutrition", "molecular modification of marine lipids for higher functionalization", and "exploration of novel bio-functional marine lipids".
